A Checklist of Birds of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula

This checklist includes 331 species that have been documented in the Keweenaw Peninsula (Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties). Taxonomic order follows the American Ornithologists’ Union’s 7th Edition Checklist; 48th Supplement

Italics identify rare species that should be documented and/or reported.

* - Indicates species for whom nesting has been confirmed in the Peninsula.

E - Indicates extirpated or extinct species.
